St. Columbanus Secondary School is an accredited Roman Catholic Secondary/High School with the purpose of educating young people in a faith community. In a safe environment of acceptance and inclusion, our students learn about their world and themselves, and develop morally, intellectually, physically, and spiritually. Academic excellence is a mutually accepted goal. Parents, teachers, students, administration, and clergy work to provide quality religious education and give daily witness of having a faith commitment of love and service to God and neighbour.
The school endorses the call of the Catholic Bishops of Nigeria to express its educational ministry through the three objectives: personal spirituality, social justice, and a strong academic program in accord with Christian values. This commitment extends to building Christian community and to fostering Christian service to the whole human family.
St. Columbanus Secondary School is a welcoming community that teaches the values and beliefs of the Catholic faith, promotes a love of learning and academic achievement, and encourages the development of each student's unique gifts and talents.
It is about the only Catholic Mission School in the State and in the immediate neighborhood which has successfully explored the gains of coeducation & training both boys and girls together.
In line with the recent National Council of Education Policy, the school runs an Upper Basic Education Curriculum (JSS 1 - 3), which will ensure continuity and flow of themes, topics and experiences from Junior School to Senior Secondary School level (SS 1 - 3). In addition to the basic Secondary School subjects, we also offer French, Latin, Etiquette and Further Mathematics. There is also a wide range of extracurricular activities available to our students.
