St. Columbanus Secondary School, Ikwen, has continued to demonstrate its academic prowess in many unique ways. Barely a week after its current edition of the Bell Magazine won a first class rating by the American Literary Academy of High Schools, New York, USA, SCOSSI again topped 30 distinguished schools in Annangland to clinch the first position in the 2018/2019 Essay Competition organized by NTO ANNANG FOUNDATION for Secondary Schools in Annang Land.

The winner of the best prize, Miss Precious Ituen, an SS3 student of St. Columbanus Secondary School, Ikwen proved beyond all reasonable doubt that she was the best that Annangland could showcase at that level of scholarship. Presenting the Award – A certificate, A Magazine and a cash prize of N100, 000 (One Hundred Thousand Naira), Abom Ephraim Okon, on behalf of NTO ANNANG FOUNDATION, recognized and praised the formation capacity of St. Columbanus Secondary School, Ikwen. He commended SCOSSI as one of the best schools in Annangland and called on all lovers of qualitative education to consider sending their wards to this great school. In her acceptance speech, the Award winner, Miss Precious Ituen, dedicated the award to her amiable Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Emem Umoren, her wonderful teachers in SCOSSI, the entire SCOSSI family, her biological family and her friend Miss Victory Brown. She praised God for giving her the opportunity to be tutored by the SCOSSI professionals. In his post Award reaction, the Dean of Student Affairs, Rev. Fr. Ubong Akpabio, while presenting the Team/Award to the Principal, confirmed that Miss Precious Ituen was not only SCOSSIAN in the way she wrote the Essay but was uniquely unique in her self expression at the Award ceremony. The Principal, Rev. Fr. Dr. Emem Umoren, as usual, proudly gave them a warm reception and used the opportunity to invite the general public to tap from the educational excellence characteristic of St. Columbanus.
